Full ruby-red. Cassis, plum, licorice, bitter chocolate and fresh herbs on the nose and palate, with tobacco and menthol nuances emerging with air. Supple and chewy but classically dry and not particularly fleshy, with oak, peppery herbs, iron and intriguing soil tones building in the glass. An elegant, pliant midweight that finishes with firm tannic backbone and a light menthol quality. - Stephen Tanzer 89 Points
Aromas of dark fruits and sweet tobacco lead to a medium body, with chewy tannins and a fruity, minerally aftertaste. A little austere, but pleasant enough. Should soften with bottle age. Drink now. 6,250 cases made. –JS - Wine Spectator Magazine 86 Points
