Tasting Notes:
Aromas of ripe blackberry and boysenberry are joined by notes of rich cherry pie filling, underscored by dried herb and white pepper spiciness. This wine is full-bodied and smooth tannins that give way to a lingering, silky finish.
Winemakers Notes:
2017 had an earlier than usual bud break, and an unusually pleasant Spring which greatly accelerated the harvest date, Warm temperatures throughout the summer coupled with early bud break gave us one of the earliest harvest in years. We harvested our Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes between September 29th and October 24th. Each vineyard lot was fermented separately on the skins for 15 to 30 days, then pressed, settled and racked to barrel where the wine was aged for 19 months in French, American, and Hungarian oak.
