Elements of austerity and richness play off each other beautifully in Massolino’s 2009 Dolcetto d’Alba. Dark varietal fruit, violets, minerals and mint come together beautifully in the glass. In top vintages this is one of the most intriguing Dolcettos in Piedmont. It easily outperforms what is a very reasonable price tag. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.
