Kamen’s 2004 Syrah (100 plus cases produced) was aged in 100% French Darnajou barrels. It is fashioned from the Syrah clone that has been used so successfully in Edna Valley by John Alban. The heady scents of licorice, creosote, pepper, and coffee are accompanied by an opulent, dense, flamboyant wine with a multilayered texture and a rich, concentrated finish revealing plenty of earth, pepper, spice, and black fruit characteristics. It should drink well for 7-8 years. - Robert Parker 92 Points
