A high-calibre Côtes du Rhône produced partly from young vines in the Vacqueyras terroir, in which Grenache and Syrah express their finesse and fruitiness.A supple, harmonious wine, best enjoyed in its early years.
VARIETIES:
Ninety-five percent of Domaine de Montvac's wines are planted in terroirs with Vacqueyras AOC or Gigondas AOC status. Our Côtes du Rhône reds and rosés make up about 20% of our total output, so we deliberately downgrade 15% of our noble terroirs to produce our Côtes du Rhône.Even though these are our youngest vines, not yet 10 years old, terroir is nevertheless a decisive factor in the final quality of the wine.
VINIFICATION:
As for our Vacqueyras and Gigondas cuvées, fermentation temperatures are strictly controlled to preserve each variety's aromatic power. However, maceration time is shorter in order to achieve supple, mouth-watering wines whose essential feature is the aromatic complexity of the fruit.
GOURMET MATCHMAKING:
Its powerful fruity aromas and subtle tannic structure make this a complete wine, to be enjoyed from its first year with charcuterie or cooked vegetables, not to mention grills perfumed with Provencal herbs; but it can also be kept for 3-4 years. - Winery
