    One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon:

One Point Five is an elegant. Silky Cabernet Sauvignon with soft tannins and abundant fruit that is approachable when young, yet capable of aging gracefully. This wine reflects the climate and soils of our Stags Leap District vineyard sites and Shafer’s commitment to meticulous, sustainable farming and quality winemaking.

    Winemaker’s Comments:

“In your glass the wine introduces itself with enticing aromas of red and black fruit, baking spice, dark violets, lavender, wet stone, and cinnamon. The promise of all that delicious complexity is fulfilled with a racy Cabernet Sauvignon full of energy – juicy flavors of red plum, cherry, cassis, black tea, and cola – all beautifully packaged together with ripe, bright tannins made for right-now enjoyment as well as long term aging in your cellar.” —Elias Fernandez

    The 2017 Growing Season:

A lengthy, warm summer allowed the fruit to hang in near ideal conditions for a long, long time producing clusters of fruit with vivid color, enticing flavors, and unrivaled aromas.

Fresh cassis and blueberries with crushed violets and stones, too. This is fresh and complex. The palate carries a smooth, supple and tautly refined brand of tannin and a succulently fresh core of blue plums and blueberries. Drink or hold. - James Suckling 95 Points

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five is dense, plush and creamy. Super-ripe dark cherry, cloves, menthol, licorice and earthy notes give the 2017 a distinctly dark, exotic feel. Plush and generous on the palate with sweet, silky tannins, the 2017 is a big wine that will drink well right out of the gate. I wouldn’t push my luck on aging here, though. - Vinous Media 91 points
