    Notes:
Pinot Noir from Sonoma County varies in its expression according to where it is grown. This wine exhibits the sassafras character of coastal Pinot Noirs, as well as the cola of those from the area between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. Moderately structured, it has a central core of red fruits and lightly toasty oak that anchor these coastal and inland elements. It should be at its best two to six years after the vintage.

The 2011 Pinot Noir (Sonoma County) is a pretty, understated wine. Crushed flowers, sweet flowers, mint and anise inform a silky, perfumed Pinot with lovely mid-palate pliancy and fine overall balance. I would prefer to drink the 2011 over the next few years given its mid-weight structure. - Antonio Galloni 91 Points

A real sleeper selection, given the variety and the vintage, is the 2011 Pinot Noir. I don’t know whether Scherrer intentionally held this back, but it is really strutting its stuff now, with notes of rose petals, wood spice, forest floor, sweet black cherries, raspberries and a hint of strawberry jam. Spicy, round, delicious, sexy and lush, it should be consumed over the next 5-6 years. - Robert Parker 90 Points

Light, bright red. High-pitched red berry and mineral aromas are complemented by notes of cola and black cardamom. Spicy and incisive on the palate, offering energetic raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a hint of blood orange. Clean, racy and focused on the finish, with silky tannins building slowly. - Stephen Tanzer 90 Points
