Produced in the Medoza region of Argentina, known for its award-winning Malbec wines, this single-vineyard Malbec is produced with meticulous care by the Pizzella family.

Vineyard: Pizzella family vineyard located in Altamira in the Uco Valley.

Orientation: The vineyard is at an elevation of 3,050 feet.

Soil: Lime rich soils with lots of gravel.

Viticulture: The family is meticulous when it comes to maintaining their vines. Balance is there goal from pruning to irrigation. The vines are all ungrafted and with an average age of 11 years. Harvest is done by hand.

Vinification: Fermentation is done is stainless steel. No fining or filtration.

Aging: 14 months in French oak barrels: 25% are new and 75% are 1 year used.

Nice bitter-chocolate and smoky notes, as well as lots of forest berries, make this generous and well structured malbec a rather complex wine. But the supple tannins are already so well integrated that you can enjoy it right away. - James Suckling 93 Points

My favorite of the Malbecs in 2018 is the 2018 Pizzella Malbec, which is aromatic, floral, varietal and harmonious. It's clean and juicy, with almost unnoticeable tannins and a velvety texture. - Robert Parker 91 Points

We enjoyed the wine with a flat iron steak stir fry. It is medium body , nice fruit , and soft tannins. A good value red for an every day wine.

Not as flavorful as I thought it would be. Malbec is one of my favorite wines. I would not order this again and normally I enjoy most wines from Argentina.

This is a great tasting Malbec. Very smooth. Nice with Italian food ... or anything!
