    Producer information:
Christoffel at a glance. Everything one can wish from great wine is lavished on these: depth, clarity, complexity, buoyancy, purity and ineffable beauty. I describe their consistent flavor profile as dashingly aromatic with a brilliant luster of flavor and inchoate depth which begs for study. The kinds of wines you keep adding to your notes on; each sip reveals another facet, the second glass differs from the first, the very last sip is still saying fresh new things. There’s a jewel-like firmness here; these aren’t leesy or plush. In general, the Erdeners are thicker and more thrusting; they show better younger. The Ürzigers are refined, fastidious and sleek. ~Terry Theise

Treppchen-typical mint, sassafras, apple and orange immediately call to mind this wine’s 2015 predecessor. Glossy, even subtly oily in feel, yet delicate, it finishes with lusciously juicy, herbally cooling and soothing persistence, adeptly supported by analytically high but well-integrated sweetness. An impression of advanced ripeness such as I would more usually associate with Auslese is reinforced by hints of quince jelly, while suggestions of fresh pineapple introduce welcome tang and complementary brightness to a superbly sustained finish. - Vinous Media 92 Points

Very fresh lemon and apple character. Quite sweet, but sleek and vibrant. The finish is super-clean and quite long. Better from 2018 and could easily age another decade. - James Suckling 91 Points
