    TASTING NOTES:

Inviting and expressive aromas of bright red cherry and lifted savory spice are balanced with hints of ground clove spice and graham cracker. Nuances of graphite and sea salt bring another dimension that come together with a bright acidity driving a long, lively finish.

    VINTAGE NOTES:

With mild temperatures leading to a long growing season and a surprise-free harvest, the 2018 vintage can only be described as idyllic. Alternating spells of cool and warm weather during bloom led to varying berry sizes, perfect for developing complexity in the wine. Morning fog, afternoon sunshine and a lack of heat spikes throughout the summer allowed for a long ripening period that developed fruit with excellent natural acidity and beautiful flavors.

    SOURCING:

Sourced from a small selection of family-owned vineyards on the Sonoma Coast as well as our Sea View Ridge estate. Each vineyard is carefully chosen for its farming practices, coastal influence, and fruit standards.

    • FERMENTATION: 100% native yeast
    • AGING: 100% French Oak (18% new) for 10 months.
    • Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
    • Alcohol: 14.1%

Moving to the reds, the appellation 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast was just about completely destemmed (2% stems) and spent 10 months in 18% new French oak. Lots of spice box, earthy forest floor, cherries, and redcurrant notes define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied and balanced, with good acidity and a great finish. As with everything from this estate, it's impeccably made and high-quality. - Jeb Dunnuck 93 points

This complex wine is thick in tannin and structure, with nuanced underlying elegance. Textured, it offers dried herb, clove, wild strawberry and a twist of blood orange on the palate, with acidity interwoven within the integrated oak. - Wine Enthusiast Magazine 91 points
