Aaron Pott and I walked through a vineyard in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley one day, musing and discussing the surrounding landscape. We both commented on how deep and dark it was; the rugged cliffs seemed to contain a story and a secret. Our conversation turned to literature and we bantered back and forth about the Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas. We sat down to chat with one of the most prolific growers in Napa Valley and the Stags Leap District. Surrounded by his vineyards, iconic winery and art collection, we convinced him to sell us grapes from the fabled Stags Leap Ranch Vineyard. This new chapter in our lives would be called “Dylans Ghost, and would emphasize Aarons philosophy of winemaking without intervention, as well as, finding the poetry and power of the surrounding terroir. Three years went by, and today, we are proud to release our inaugural vintage of Dylans Ghost. - Winery

I was impressed with the 100% Malbec, the 2014 Malbec, which was aged in one-year-old French casks. The wine has silky tannin, plenty of black chocolate, cocoa and mocha with blackberry and cassis. The wine has great fruit on the attack and is a medium to full-bodied, delicious wine to drink over the next 10-12 years - Robert Parker 91 Points

The 2014 Malbec from Dylan’s Ghost is a soft, fruity wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet red cherry and plum flavors, along with silky tannins, give the wine much of its near and medium-term appeal. - Antonio Galloni 88 Points
