After a cool and rainy winter and a frost episode in April, the warm and dry weather in spring was perfect for flowering. In July and August the weather was more demanding but it became fine again early September with a true indian summer which allowed for a perfect maturation of grapes. The harvest took place mid September under bright sunshine. The red wines have beautiful aromas of ripe red berries with a sappy texture.
The grapes for Domaine Chanson's Bourgogne Rouge are sourced exclusively from select estate-owned vineyards in the Cote de Nuits, as well as several terroirs located in the southern part of the Cote de Beaune. As with all their grower relationships, Chanson harvests all fruit with their team in order to maximize control over fruit quality and picking times.
