    2020 Pinot Noir:

When making Intercept Pinot Noir we target vineyard sites that benefit from cool foggy mornings from the Pacific marine layer and warm afternoons. Fermented in stainless steel with malolactic fermentation and aging done in barrels. Aged in French and Eastern European oak (30% new) for 14 months.

    Tasting Notes:

Our 2020 Intercept Pinot Noir has aromas of ripe cherries, cranberries, and cloves. The wine is medium-bodied with dusty fine-grained tannins and a long juicy finish.

    Vintage Notes:

Sometimes things don’t go according to gameplan, so you’ve got to keep your head on a swivel. The California wildfires of 2020 damaged the fruit at our favorite Pinot Noir vineyard in Monterey. We had to adapt at a moment's notice. That’s why our 2020 Pinot Noir hails from Santa Barbara County – specifically Santa Rita Hills & Santa Maria Valley. It features cherry, spice, and the same long, juicy finish of our previous Pinots. Different terrains and climates bring out different qualities in the grape, so you may notice a lighter body on this vintage. With 2021 vintage, our Pinot Noir will return to its roots in Monterey.

    Food Pairing:

Grilled salmon, braised duck, and stuffed Portobello mushrooms.
