    This Wine Is Rated:

    PHILOSOPHY:
Often lost in the ever expanding wine world, many have lost sight of what makes a great wine. Candor wines get right to the point of defining great wine by offering a straightforward product with varietal expression at a fair price. By using grapes from some of California’s best old-vines, coupled with our no non-sense winemaking approach, we have created a Zinfandel with the fresh, vibrant nature of a young wine, as well as the richness and complexity of an older, more mature wine. Candor is the kind of wine Zinfandel fans want to drink. Candor wine. Zinfandel defifined.

    VINEYARDS:
Zinfandel is one of California’s signature grapes and thrives in warmer parts of the state. The climate during the growing season sees warm days with nights that cool down thanks to the breezes from the Sacramento River Delta. The Candor Zinfandel grapes come from gnarly-head, old-vines that have seen upwards of sixty harvests and have roots that penetrate deep into the granite-based sandy delta soils. The 4th generation family who grow the grapes tend their vineyards with the same care as we do our own: minimal manipulation, sustainable practices and balanced yields. The resulting fruit produces rich, complex flavors, with great structure.

    TASTING NOTES:
The aromas of Candor Zinfandel jump right out of the glass – blackberry and raspberry along with vanilla and allspice. The up-front strawberry, cherry and licorice flavors integrate well with the smooth silky tannins. Bold and full-bodied, yet not overpowering, Candor Zinfandel finishes with lasting notes of cedar wood, pepper and the Zinfandel zing that made this variety so popular.
