    Our Story:

Founded in 2010, Aviary Vineyards launched with the 2009 vintage of our Napa Valley Red Blend. That first vintage took advantage of tiny lots of different varieties from 13 different vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Much like an aviary, the blend of different grapes interacted and harmonized to create a wine that was beautiful, enjoyable, and captivating. Each component is wonderful, but together, they combined into a truly great experience.

We hope you will enjoy Aviary Vineyards and we invite you to contact us with your comments.

    Winemaking Notes:

Aviary exemplifies the craft of the winemaker and the art of blending. Each year we select the best wines from up to 7 different vineyard sites to create a blend that expresses both the uniqueness of each vintage and the elegant style of Aviary Reserve. Layers of chocolate, strawberry, dried cherry, tobacco, and toasted oak balance with silky tannins and bright acidity to create a perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon that can be enjoyed now or aged over time.

    Cons:
Right off the bat you can smell the dark fruit, strawberry and chocolate and you can tell right away how rich and flavorful it is. The color is a deep, dark red.

The smooth, silky tannins make for a beautiful well rounded sip, and despite it being a very dark, dry wine, it's wonderfully smooth on the tongue. You can taste notes of chocolate and tobacco, and the fruit of strawberry and pear. Just at the very end you get a nice note of aged oak that brings the sip together.

A lovely wine, and certainly a favorite of mine since enjoying it with a nice meal at Ruth Chris' steakhouse. Will be ordering several for my wine cellar to allow it to age.
