‘Veraton’ is the third wine we produce from the Garnacha grape, from vines between 30 and 50 years old, and aged in barrels for 16 months. It is a wine with an attractive collection of balsamic notes, of chocolate and black fruits, very warm in the mouth and an extremely pleasant finish.
The 2015 Alto Moncayo Veraton is the entry level effort yet offers serious bang for the buck. Made from 100% Garnacha from vineyards in Tabuenca and aged in a mix of French and American oak, it gives up terrific notes of blackberries, currants, toasted spices and dried flowers. Possessing beautiful purity of fruit, a full, layered mid-palate, integrated oak, and a great finish, it’s a smoking good Grenache to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years. - Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points
Round and juicy, this lively red shows ripe flavors of kirsch and mulled plum, with chocolate and licorice accents. Heady but not heavy, with bright acidity and spicy and floral notes on the finish. Drink now through 2022. 6,000 cases made. -TM - Wine Spectator Magazine 92 Points
