    Notes:
The Bougrier clan have been Sauvignon Blanc experts in the Loire Valley (the grape’s spiritual home) since 1885. Today, seasoned winemaker Noël Bougrier carries on his family’s proud tradition with his ever-popular Abbesse.

In a region known for world-class whites like Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé (which can carry price tags upwards of $30), Abbesse stands out, thanks to its fine quality and value. This latest release comes from the stellar 2016 vintage, which is noted for yielding Sauvignon Blanc of exceptional concentration and aromatic intensity, thanks to fantastic weather leading up to the pivotal harvest time.

Look for leap-from-the-glass aromas of grassy citrus, plus a lovely, ripe peachiness on the palate and a zesty lime finish. It’s a go-to aperitif and equally tasty served with its traditional (and delicious) companion, goat cheese.

Had a wonderful drinkability with a clear crisp taste without a lot of the fruity favor of other similar sauvignon blancs

I had previously had bottles of Abesse de Loire and re ordered this wine. The 2017 vintage is outstanding. Has a nice drynessk yet fruity it has distinct pineapple grapefruit hints and finishes very clean.
