Product information:
Shiraz from the Pieri Family Vineyard is hand-harvested and fermented in one and two ton open-top fermentors with daily punch downs for several days. The must was basket pressed into French and American oak (25% new) to complete fermentation and then ages for 14-16 months in the same oak.
A youthful vivid purple color with a nose of red berries, spice, black fruits, dark chocolate and mocha. Silky tannins and toasty oak round out the finish.
Founded in 2007 and located in Western Australia, Vinaceous is the brainchild of winemaker Michael Kerrigan and marketer Nick Stacy. Michael has over 17 years of winemaking experience and his contacts with farmers ensure access to superior fruit. The reds are sourced from renowned vineyards in South Australia including McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley based on recommendations from South Australia's most talented producers and winemakers. The Verdelho is sourced from a single vineyard in Pemberton, a cool-climate West Australian region, while the Chardonnay is sourced from Margaret River. Vinaceous' labels are inspired by circus and sideshow posters from the 1930s and 1940s.
