Sourced from the Asti vineyard, which sits at an elevation of 2,460 feet. The grapes macerated on its skins for 30 days with regular pump overs and aged 14 months in new French (93%) and American (7%) oak followed by another six months in bottle.
Intense aromas and flavors of red fruits, spices and vanilla with subtle notes of smoke. Well-balanced and structured with long and juicy tannins on the finish. - Winery
Hard-edged aromas of cheesy oak, leather, wiry berry fruits and graphite are a bit hot when totaled up. Tight, fresh and juicy on the palate, this tastes of currant, plum and vanilla. A finish with heavy but integrated oak as well as residual heat and burn says drink through 2022. - Wine Enthusiast Magazine 90 Points
A refined style, with good cut to the brooding dark plum and cherry tart flavors. Intriguing cedary notes in the midpalate, with a finish that is long, rich and minerally. Drink now through 2020. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,500 cases made.–KM - Wine Spectator Magazine 89 Points
