    VINTAGE:

The 2017 growing season started off with average precipitation with the winter rains facilitating healthy vines throughout the coastal regions. Canopies looked spectacular heading into the spring and early summer. Bud break was later than the previous vintage. Warm, sunny days followed during fruit set. There were no heat events until July, which signaled the fruit to ripen. The heat wave was followed by a cool period that brought the fruit to optimum Brix levels. Extended hang time through the harvest allowed us the luxury to let all the fruit mature and to focus on flavor and tannin development.

    GRAPE SOURCING:

We source our grapes from select Central Coast and North Coast vineyards where cool nights and warm afternoon breezes ripen the fruit slowly for intense flavor and elegant textures. North Coast vineyards showcase blackberry, black currant, richness, and chewy tannins, while Central Coast feature red currant, plum, dried herb, and firm structure.

    WINEMAKER NOTES:

Our Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby red in color with aromas of blackberry and black cherry with toasted notes of oak and brown spice. This wine is full of dark, concentrated black fruit flavors complemented by a rich mouthfeel, balanced acidity, supple tannins, and a long finish.
