    About the Producer:
70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. About 40% of the grapes come from the Chianti Classico property, while 60% come from Maremma (Il Tesoro). The vineyards located in the Chianti Classico property face southwest and have an altitude of 650-850 feet a.s.l. The soil is calcareous dating back to the cretaceous period, and the substrata is composed of sand and clay. The vineyards located in the Il Tesoro property also face southwest but have an altitude of 1,150-1,300 feet a.s.l. The soil in Il Tesoro is a clay loam or “red soil.” The grapes are harvested in September/October, and are vinified in stainless steel. The wine is aged one year in French & American oak barriques, and one year in the bottle. The bouquet is ample, intense and elegant, with berry fruit, chocolate, and roasted almond notes that continue on the palate, sustained by superb structure and depth.

Deceptively medium in body, the 2010 Campaccio is laced with dark red cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and dried herbs. The 2010 should drink well with minimal cellaring, but it also has more than enough energy to drink well for a number of years. Although pretty and delicate in style, the 2010 needs a bit of air to open up. Campaccio is 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.- Antonio Galloni 91 Points

Black cherry and plum flavors are marshaled by the racy acidity in this intense, athletic red. Tight and resonant on the burly finish. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2023. 15,000 cases made.–BS - Wine Spectator Magazine 89 Points
