Bright, golden colour. Beautifully evolved nose of aromas of pineapple and mango on a palate of honey and delicate vanilla-like hints of the oak. Its mouth is round and generous, giving a feeling of the sweetness of Chardonnay and it is balanced in acidity with a long-lasting freshness on the finish. - Winery
The 2016 Emphasis Chardonnay was aged for six months in 70% new French oak. It comes in at 15% alcohol. Rich and ripe, this Chard has fine body, big fruit and a bit of an oaky overlay-although the concentrated mid-palate soaks it up pretty well. There is nothing subtle or complex here, but if this big Chard often hits you over the head, it is a lot of fun nonetheless. Revel in its relative decadence and match it to the right foods to counter its depth and rich tendencies. It does many things well in its style-and it is not over the top, so don’t misunderstand. This hasn’t typically been my favorite of the winery’s bottlings, but I suspect this will attract some favorable consumer attention. - Robert Parker 90 Points
