Bright, green–yellow colour. On the nose discreet aromas of white flowers, citrus and lemon peel combined with a sense of minerality. It is a full-bodied wine with an extremely high and refreshing acidity and notes of citrus, stone and chalk dominating in the mouth and its long aftertaste. - Winery
The 2016 Emphasis Assyrtiko is unoaked and comes in at 14% alcohol. Big, concentrated, deep and ripe, this lovely Assyrtiko is from a producer outside of Santorini that has been doing well with the grape. This fills the mouth and coats the palate. It isn’t as zesty as some, and there is none of that ”saline” nuance that we often find in Santorini. However, this is beautifully balanced, with the concentration to hold up to food. Despite being unoaked, it isn’t one of the sprightly little summer whites. This has some stuffing. It will be interesting to see how this ages. It may do quite well, but let’s take that in stages. - Robert Parker 91 Points
