    About the producer:
The terroir of Château Rauzan-Gassies lies exclusively on the glacial gravel of Margaux and Cantenac, overlooking the Gironde river. The excellent drainage of this soil makes it ideal for an elite vineyard. The gravel along the river is a sanctuary for Margaux vineyards, that were already reputed in the Middle Ages. All the Château Rauzan-Gassies terroirs are part of the "Historical Margaux", and were planted with vines long before 1855.

Ripe cassis and morello-cherry aromas pour from the glass. As seductive as the fruit of this wine is, there’s also serious concentration and a major tannin structure that means it packs quite a punch on the long, rather complex finish. - James Suckling 95 Points

Showing the richness of the vintage behind firm tannins, this wine is tough and solid at the moment although that will change as it matures. The hint of bitter over-extraction is the sole blemish on a wine that otherwise highlights the many improvements at this estate. Drink from 2025. - Wine Enthusiast Magazine 94 Points

One of the more structured wines in the vintage is the 2015 Rauzan-Gassies. Deep ruby/purple colored with a fabulous bouquet of currants, charcoal, black cherries and crushed rocks, it is a full-bodied, incredibly pure, concentrated Margaux that has integrated tannin and a focused, chiseled feel. Forget bottles for 5-6 years and it should reward for upwards of two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck 92 Points

The 2015 Rauzan Gassies is powerful and rather rustic, with potent tannins that convey and impression of rusticity. Smoke, grilled herbs, licorice, scorched earth and wild cherry notes add to the wines brooding, virile personality. The 2015 could turn out to be a small jewel of a wine if it softens a bit with time in bottle. The blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. - Vinous Media 91 Points
