    Notes:
I've had access to Widdoes Vineyard for 22 years and it is owned by Don Widdoes and farmed by Dutton Ranch who planted Martini clones in 1980. The soil is Goldridge fine sandy loam. Located just West of the little town of Graton, it is a magical location for pinot noir.

Leaning into the glass, you detect a mélange of forest floor, cherry cola and the sweet smell of brown sugar. Flavors of grilled mission fig, vanilla, smoked pear and currants. Elegant tannins are present. - Winery

Dark red cherry and a host of mineral/soil inflected notes give the 2015 Pinot Noir Widdoes much of its distinctive personality. Brooding and intense, but with striking mid-palate intensity, the 2015 is remarkably expressive for a wine that is just bottled a few weeks before this tasting. These Martini clone Pinot vines give the Widdoes its exotic aromatic presence and distinctive personality. Of all the Capiaux Pinots, this is the wine I personally admire the most. - Antonio Galloni 93 Points

...the wine displays a touch of smokey spice, almost barbecue-like notes in the background, but there is great fruit - black cherries, blackcurrants, and hints of floral and forest floor notes. This complex, multi-dimentional Pinot Noir is irresistible already but promises to drink well for another 5-7 years. - Robert Parker 93 Points
