Vivid ruby. Blackberry and dark cherry aromas are complemented by notes of tobacco and licorice. Juicy, nicely concentrated dark fruit flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and pick up smokiness with air. Shows very good clarity on the gently tannic, spicy finish, with the cherry note echoing. The entry-level 2009 Fincas Resalso is 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) from some of the younger vines on the estate. The wine was aged 4 months in French oak. Aromas of cedar, mineral, spice box, violets, and black fruits inform the nose of this forward, supple, succulent effort from the great 2009 vintage.
