The colour of this 2018 Pinot Noir is a medium intense burgundy with a youthful purple rim. Lifted notes of cherry and strawberry fruit complement rich vanillin overtones giving warm and inviting aromas on the nose of this wine. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, round tannins, cherry and strawberry fruit with sweetness which complements the vanilla and spice oak undertones. All these elements combined create a well-balanced, enjoyable wine with a long finish.
THE GROWING SEASON:
Vintage 2018 had a cool start, with bud break through flowering and fruit set taking its time, in some locations delaying the start of the season by several weeks. Patience and a close eye in the vineyards allowed fruit to develop slowly, enhancing complexity and developing layers of flavor. Harvest was also late, with isolated weather that was well managed by vineyard teams who got dust on their boots while keeping a close eye on the fruit.
