This wine shows the characteristic aromas of grapefruit, lime, lychee, banana and the spiciness associated with the Gewürztraminer variety. The slight residual sugar balances the phenolic elements typical of Gewürztraminer with the complexity of mineral overtones that presents the wine with a long, clean fresh finish. This wine can be paired with spicy dishes with great success. - Winery

Our Gewürztraminer is rich and complex. It is made with a traditional taste profile, so it is just a bit sweet with crisp acidity. There are aromas of tangerine, mango and orange spice that are joined by pineapple baked pear and a bit of cinnamon. The wine is zesty with flavors of clove, orange and caramelized apples. - Dennis Martin, Winemaker
Delicate floral and spice aromas delightfully intermingle in Glenora's classically styled 2006 Gewurztraminer. Dry, with a clean, lingering finish. This bright, flavorful wine is ideally suited for intense, savory dishes. - Winery
Comparable in styling to wine from Alsace, France, this wine presents Lychee in the nose, rich fruit and spicy mouth, and a slight peppery finish. - Winery

Gewürztraminer is a variety of grape that produces a wine with exquisite spice and complexity. Delicate floral aromas combined with flavors of ripe watermelon and lychee balance a palate that is rich, creamy and elegant. Tastes great paired with spicy seafood and oriental cuisine. - Winery
VINEYARDS: Our Gewürztraminer vines are planted in Karoo soils on well-drained mountain slopes. Vines are planted from North West to South East to utilize the prevailing sea breeze. The sea breeze cools down the fruit, extend the ripening period and build up concentrated flavours in the grapes. WINEMAKING: Six tons of grapes per hectare were harvested at 25ºB from two vineyards. Only free run juice was used to ensure a delicate fruit component. Fermentation happened slowly in temperature...
Gewurztraminer was the first new vineyard planted by Marti and Tom Macinski at Standing Stone Vineyards. The first vines were planted in 1994 and included 4 different clones of Gewurztraminer. The vineyard site is on a steep hillside with thin soils and lots of slate. The combination of soil, slate and sun exposure contribute to an exceptional Gewurztraminer. - Winery
