    TASTING NOTES
    * Deep, brillitant red color
    * Ripe and aromatic, explosive nose with intense red fruit expression
    * Fine and elegant, with a good balance of alcohol and acidity
    * Black and red cherry flavors, surrounded by sweet earthy notes
    * Long, rich and smooth finish due to the very ripe and soft tannins - Winery

    OUR PHILOSOPHY
    Exploring South America is one of our passions. Not content to continue growing grapes in the same regions we always have, we set out more than two decades ago to explore new lands, curious to see how different soils and climates would affect our favorite wine varieties.

    THE BIO BIO VALLEY
    This valley is situated 310 miles south of Santiago and 31 miles from the coast. It is characterized by a temperate Mediterranean climate with significant influence from the sea. There are approximately 47 inches of rain a year, and the characteristics of the valley allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their freshness and the intensity of their flavors and aromas.

    WINEMAKING
    * Hand-harvested in the early morning
    * Harvest 100% de-stemmed
    * No crushing
    * Cold pre-fermentative maceration at 50° F for 6 to 8 days
    * Length of maceration 18 to 22 days
    * Aged 16 months, 40% in medium toast 2nd and 3rd use French oak barrels, 60% in stainless steel

    Bright medium red. Aromas of red berries, cherry and spicecake show accurate pinot character. Supple and a bit loose-knit but offers plenty of plump red fruit flavor and a touch of bitter chocolate. The finish betrays a hint of bitterness. This is good value for the variety. - Stephen Tanzer 87 Points

    This is perfumy, with spice and mint notes backed by mulled cherry fruit. A light earthy edge frames the finish. Drink now. 40,000 cases made. –JM - Wine Spectator Magazine 86 Points
