Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Snake Charmer Shiraz has notes of warm plums, blackberry preserves and baking spices with a hint of cloves. Medium-full bodied with plenty of ripe blackberry flavor, it has chewy tannins, crisp acidity and a medium-long finish. Drink this one now to 2015.
The 2009 Snake Charmer Shiraz is from the Pieri Family Vineyard in the hills between McLaren Flat and Kangarilla; these old vines are hand harvested and made using traditional techniques by Vinaceous contract winemaker Elena Brooks (Dandelion Vineyards). The wine is matured in oak and selected by Vinaceous Winemakers Mike Kerrigan and Nick Stacy and sent to West Cape Howe Wine (WA) for finishing, fining, blending and bottling by Vinaceous.
The result is an exceptional, deep purple & vivid in colour with bright hues - with perfumed, lifted berries and spice on the nose, intense black fruits, dark chocolate and mocha notes across the mid palate; wonderfully rich, layered and textural; this wine literally coats the mouth - and finishes with soft, long and silky tannins and toasty oak nuances.
The 2009 Snake Charmer Shiraz can be enjoyed in its youth and can be cellared for up to 8 years and a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, sausages and BBQ’s. - Winery
