The purple/black-colored 2006 Shiraz Coach House Block Roennfeldt Road exhibits a brooding bouquet of blue and black fruits, Asian spices, and toasty oak. Supple, ripe, and more forward than the Zippy’s Block, this layered, pleasure-bent wine can be enjoyed now but will evolve for several more years. It should provide pleasure through 2021. - Robert Parker 96 Points
Plush in texture, lavishly oaked and resonant with gorgeous black cherry, plum and licorice flavors that glide smoothly over polished tannins and linger impressively on the long, generous finish. Defines power with finesse. Drink now through 2020. 400 cases made. –HS - Wine Spectator Magazine 95 Points
Opaque ruby. Deeply concentrated and youthfully brooding on the nose, with a slow-to-open bouquet of dark berry preserves, hot asphalt, cured tobacco, spicecake and crystallized flowers. Juicy blackberry, cassis and cherry-cola flavors are deepened by bitter chocolate and candied licorice, yet maintain improbable clarity. Manages to be deep and lively at once, and offers outstanding finishing clarity, energy and clinging persistence. There's no excess fat or warmth here, despite the fact that this weighs in at almost 17% alcohol. Pretty impressive. - Stephen Tanzer 94 Points
