VINTAGE NOTES:
The 2020 growing season began with mild winter and occasional rain. A sudden return to winter temperatures in March did not cause significant damage in the territory. Temperatures were on the rise in mid-April and spring continued with favorable conditions for flowering and fruit set between the end of May and the beginning of June. Summer was rather hot and dry but was uninterrupted by heat spikes. September brought higher temperatures that persisted until end of the month when cooler weather set in. Harvest began on September 3rd with Merlot and wrapped up with Cabernet Sauvignon on October 2nd. The other grape varieties were harvested during the last half of September.
TASTING NOTES:
Il Bruciato 2020 is an intense ruby red color. Its nose is intense and enticing with notes of currants, blackberries, delicate hints of vanilla and sweet spices. Excellent harmony on the palate where a fruity finish dominates and imparts good persistence and easy drinkability.
- BLEND: Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
- ALCOHOL: 13.5%
Compared to the previous vintage, this edition is richer and slightly denser with nicely concentrated fruit. That extra textural support is a characteristic of this fortunate vintage. This accessible blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah offers tight mineral notes, toasted spice, almond and lots of dark, luscious fruit. - Robert Parker 93 points
