Winemaker’s note:
The monumental 2013 red wine vintage in the Barossa has produced a Shiraz with deep colour and a bouquet of dark forest fruits with a hint of chocolate and vanilla in the background. This is a full bodied, richly flavoured wine with soft, velvet tannins and while drinking beautifully now can be cellared with confidence for another 5-10 years if so desired.
Vintage:
The 2013 vintage was our earliest and one of the driest and quickest for many years. The weather remained warm to hot throughout but without any extended heat waves and the unusually small crop has produced highly coloured, richly structured red wines destined for many years in the cellar an outstanding red wine vintage.
Vineyards: Sourced from selected premium Shiraz vineyards located throughout the Barossa.
Winemaking:
Fruit was fermented on skins for ten days. Following pressing, clarification and blending, the wine was matured in French and American oak hogsheads for 12 months prior to bottling.
Enjoy: Try it with a good steak, barbecued quail, roast beef or a tasty Cheddar.
