The 2008 Barolo Gattera is one of the more immediate wines in this lineup. It shows lovely juiciness in its fruit in a fairly approachable style for the year. The character of the vintage comes through most on the saline, wiry finish. This is a gorgeous wine from Mauro and Daniela Veglio. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. - Robert Parker 92 Points
Very good deep red. Cool aromas of minerals and mint; atypically austere for La Morra Barolo. Rich but youthfully imploded and much less giving than the Arborina. Strong minerality contributes to the impression of austerity. Finishes firmly tannic and youthfully bound-up. This will need at least several years of cellaring. - Stephen Tanzer 90+ Points
