Fruit from this vineyard, along with selected parcels of fruit from our family owned Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in the Clare Valley have been blended to produce a wine that is rich, soft and approachable.

    Sight:
This wine is deep garnet in colour with high clarity.

    Smell:
The nose is very aromatic, displaying primary characters of cassis and dark berries with subtle hints of dried herbs.

    Taste:
The palate is medium bodied and generous, showing fine tannins, highlighted by flavours of blackcurrant, mint and morello cherries.

    Time:
As with previous releases of ‘The Cover Drive’, the wine displays harmonious balance and can be enjoyed now or will reward cellaring for 5 years. - Winery

Dark purple. Red- and blackcurrant on the nose, with hints of tobacco, dark chocolate and vanilla. Rich and supple on the palate, showing nicely concentrated dark berry flavors, juicy acidity and slow-building mocha and vanilla qualities. Picks up a smoky element with air and finishes with suggestions of dried cherry and plum. - Stephen Tanzer 90 Points

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored and showing freshly crushed blackcurrants and blackberries on the nose alongside hints of pencil lead, loam and dried Mediterranean herbs, the medium-bodied 2012 The Cover Drive Cabernet Sauvignon is packed with cassis flavors all nicely framed by a medium level of chewy tannins, vibrant acid and finish that’s both long and a little herbal. Drink it now to 2018+. - Robert Parker 87+ Points

Firm, upright and convincing, with juicy black fruit at the core and spicy, earthy notes adding interest to the finish. Has presence. Best from 2015 through 2018. 3,000 cases imported. –HS - Wine Spectator Magazine 87 Points
