Chateau Compassant is a 10 hectare property in Genissac (Entre deux Mers) owned by Jean-Luc Thunevin of Chateau Valandraud fame. Guillaume Queron is the vineyard manager and responsible for the winemaking under Jean-Luc's supervision. The vineyards are planted on two types of terroir, one being a clay/silt plateau and the other a very strong south facing slope on a more limestone soil. The Chateau Compassant is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cbernet Sauvignon. The wine is fermented in tank but aged in 100% new oak from Seguin Moreau, Demptos and Radoux. - Winery
