(70% monastrell and 30% syrah): Full ruby. Cherry, cassis, licorice and a faint smokiness on the nose. Juicy, intensely flavored and youthfully taut, with dense black and blue fruit flavors and a hint of candied licorice. Very nicely concentrated but a bit tough on the finish, perhaps due to its youth.

Brisk, showing char and espresso notes, with modest plum and licorice flavors. This has light, firm tannins and crisp acidity. Drink now. 7,000 cases imported. –TM

This is leathery and stemmy on the nose, with horsey plum and raspberry aromas. It feels narrow, with rubbery, herbal and roasted berry flavors. This is a rustic, roasted wine no matter how you slice it. - M.S.
