A beauty, the deep, full-bodied 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain exhibits notes of blueberry pie, charcoal, wet steel, white flowers, and crushed rocks. Pure and dense, 2-3 years of bottle age is required, and it should keep for two decades.
Firm, ripe, intense and spicy, with dried currant, berry, sage and mineral flavors that are tight, focused and well-structured, ending with an aftertaste of loamy earth. Best from 2011 through 2018. 1,855 cases made. –JL
Medium ruby-red. Expressive aromas of crushed blackberry, blueberry, tobacco, earth, flowers and chocolatey oak. Juicy, sweet and pliant, with firm acidity framing the mountain berry flavors and providing verve. Not yet complex but high-toned in a positive way and quite young. Finishes with serious but sweet tannins.
