Altovinum’s 2010 Evodia is 100% Garnacha sourced from the highest elevation vineyards of Garnacha of any DO in Spain. It offers up a slightly exotic nose of earthy minerality, mocha, black cherry, and black raspberry. Savory, concentrated, and with a forward personality, this great value will deliver pleasure over the next 3-4 years.

(made from vines that are reportedly up to 100 years of age; raised in concrete):  Bright ruby.  Raspberry and cherry on the intensely fragrant nose, with a smoky quality adding complexity.  Fleshy, round red berry and spice flavors show impressive clarity and energy, especially for the price.  Silky tannins add shape to the long, spicy, appealingly sweet finish.  This is a great value.

Floral and fresh smelling, with rosy notes, blueberry and nary any funk, leather or earth. Vibrant and juicy in the mouth, with boysenberry and plum flavors that set up a fruity, clean finish. Brighter, smoother and easier going than the 2009. - M.S.
