The 2008 Barolo Vigneto La Villa emerges from the glass with generous dark red fruit, flowers, menthol, pine and licorice, all supported by firm, massive tannins. French oak gives the wine volume and textural depth, but without being intrusive. A plush, authoritative finish rounds out this stylish, totally fabulous Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.
